About Niall
A journalist, photographer, and marine scientist based in Maine. I currently work as an Assignment Editor for WMTW News 8 in Portland. My work ranges from helping coordinate daily news coverage to reporting on stories affecting communities accross the state.
My background combines journalism and science. I earned a bachelors in broadcast journalism with a minor in marketing and a master's degree in marine biology with a focus on marine mammal conservation. Whether reporting, writing or photography, I enjoy telling stories that help people to understand the places around them.
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
Henry David Thoreau
